چکیده
Abrupt and gradual dry-off strategies by reducing feeding level (normal vs. reduced energy density), milking frequency (twice once daily), administration of a dopamine agonist after last (i.m. saline cabergoline injection) were investigated (2 × 2 factorial arrangement) for their effects on feed intake, milk yield, balance, leakage, clinical udder characteristics in 119 Holstein cows. In the week before dry-off, cows assigned to 1 4 combinations frequency. Within 3 h milking, injected with either or (cabergoline; Velactis, Ceva Santé Animale; labeled use only abrupt i.e., no preceding reduction milking). After all fed same diet dry cows, data collection continued week. Dry matter intake (DMI) was recorded automated bins yield an automatic system where additional concentrate fed. Clinical leakage scored 10 times during dry-off. Before total DMI decreased compared normal level, but did not differ between frequencies. The combined effect concentration resulted 47% lower net Milk approximately 30% when change frequency, whereas 45% both reduced. balance negative more twice-daily milking. engorgement treatments Cabergoline injection least signs 48 h, also lasting 24 irrespective treatment conclusion, cessation lactation daily without high-yielding dairy inducing period contrast, induced which may compromise welfare due metabolic stress hunger. No clear differences risk observed management strategies. Use led fewer first days positively affect at However, mechanism behind consequences concomitant decrease needs further investigation complete our understanding

Effects of Feeding Rumen Protected Choline and Vitamin E on Milk Yield, Milk Composition, Dry Matter Intake, BodyCondition Score and Body Weight in Early Lactating Dairy Cows
Twenty four primiparous and multiparous Holstein cows on early lactation, beginning five weeks postpartum, were used for four weeks to investigate the effects of supplemention of rumen-protected choline (RPC) or vitamin E on milk yield, milk composition, dry matter intake, body condition score and body weight. The cows were randomly assigned to one of the following treatments: I)no supplement (...

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of milking frequency (two times daily vs. three times daily) on the 305-d lactation milk, fat and protein yield and fat and protein percentage of Holstein dairy cows in Morocco. Data analyzed were 31400 records collected between 2009 and 2016 on 14272 cows raised in 194 herds. The frequency of milking had significant effects (P<...
